| The city of wine, carnival and unbridled fun is none other than Limassol. The second largest city of Cyprus is the largest port and commercial center of the island, the first in production Commandaria a very sweet wine. Limassol, although modern and developed city with malls, shops, hotels and restaurants has a flavor and an aura, formerly the seasons. Walking in the old town you can see the medieval castle, built in the late 12th century, surrounded by souvenir shops, stores and restaurants and so is a beautiful blending of old and kainyrio. Outside the city is still a fortress of the medieval castle Colossus. Some more of the sights and museums of the Limassol Municipal Art Gallery, The Provincial Archaeological Museum, the Public Garden, the Museum of Folk Art and the Medieval Museum. Just outside town is the ancient city of Amathus, the ancient theater of Kourion which hosts summer concerts and theatrical performances and the Temple of Apollo Hylates. The tourist area of Limassol is full of restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs, clubs and crowded in the evenings from the world and the fun lasts until the morning. |
